Web Tips: Help people compare

One thing that just about everyone likes to be able to do is compare different models, and or services to make sure that they are getting what they want for the best price they can. This is something that many businesses do that sell a range of different services, for example Web Hosting.

If there is a way that you can show comparison on your products then take that opportunity to do so. Especially if it is something that others in your industry are not doing, it can not only set you apart but can also help customers to make a decision.

What should you compare – This will all depend upon the type of product or service, but really comes down to anything that has a comparable feature. For example for web hosting it may be the amount of storage, or the amount of downloads allowed or even the number of email accounts. Another example may be a business selling camera’s, they would compare things like focus length, megapixels, magnification, or any number of other features.

How to show Comparison – Again this will depend alot on what you are selling. In some cases the comparison is easy one product to another. Where as in other cases there may be a need to allow the customer to compare their choice of products from all the products in a range. The choice of how you compare products is quite important as it is something that can from time to time, make or break the sale.

Taking the time to give potential customers an easier way to compare the potential products that they may purchase can help to improve your sales. It can also really help your customers to see the true difference between products, right there side by side. Rather then trying to guess what is what and what is the difference, when they are looking at different products on different pages.
