Not the way to Advertise
Some companies do advertising campaigns that just wow you, and create such a great buzz for them that the value that receive from those campaigns, far outweighs the actual cost. While there are other companies that just seem to like to throw more money away then they know what to do with. This often comes from companies not being fully aware of the differences from one company to another.
But more then anything this comes from marketing that has not been properly researched. Or just ads that are completely off target in every possible way. When you are marketing you don’t want to make the mistakes that far to many companies seem to make. You want to create advertising that people see, they take in and that they actually act on. Below are just some of the ways that you really do not want to waste your marketing budget.
- Miss your target market – If you are going to advertise you have to know who it is that you are trying to sell to, if your answer is consumers, or everyone, then you are marketing to the wrong people. If you are marketing to everyone you are marketing to no one. Some of the best advertising campaigns seem like they are targeting such a small market for the money that seems to be in the campaign, however it gets people questioning do they offer something i would want as well, if they offer such a product to those type of people.
- Ads that just do not fit – If you want to lose customers quickly then market to them with ads that are totally irrelevant to the product. Ok yes maybe the idea of any product exposure is better then none, but many companies cross the line between more exposure and literally trashing their brand.
- Make things obscure – Trying to make people look harder and longer at your ad to guess who or what it is advertising can be one of the more crazy ways to advertise. If you want people to look at your ad longer make it more interesting or more eye catching don’t make them have to guess what it is for or who. As they just as possibly may guess wrong and your competitor may benefit from your advertising dollars more then you.
Don’t make the mistake of bad advertising. If you can get good advertising out there that is eye catching and clearly declares who, what, why, and how then you are likely to come off better then if you annoy to many potential customers
